About Rookin House

Rookin House is an established adventure venue and has been offering a wide variety of outdoor activities for over 25 years. Family owned and operated, Rookin House has a strong focus on both fun and safety. The centre is just 4 miles from Ullswater, and 8 miles from both Keswick and Penrith and easily accessible from the A66. All of the activities (unless otherwise stated) are based on one site with Blencathra providing a spectacular Lakeland backdrop.

We have three 16th Century Barns that have been converted for group self catering accommodation that you can hire out for sole occupancy for your family or group to enjoy the Lake District National Park, and our activities if you wish.

We are the only venue in the Lake District National Park who offer such a wide variety of activities including Horse Riding, Quad Biking, Clay shooting to the more unusual activities of Human Bowling, Argo Cat Off Road Experience and the Power Turns and much more.

There are a few companies that offer a booking service but they don’t actually run the activities themselves. By booking direct you are sure to get the best price available. We offer extremely good value for money without compromising on quality. With the activities being based on site we can save on set up costs and this is passed on to you our customers.

We offer activities for adults, kids, couples, families, school & youth groups, adult groups including stag and hen parties and companies. Whether it be a corporate activity day or a team building day with specific aims and objectives we aim to provide an activity or activity package to meet your requirements and exceed your expectations.
